Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at
Rockland St Mary Primary School and Nursery/ Surlingham Primary School.
A message from the SENDCo
At Rockland St Mary Primary School and Nursery and Surlingham Primary School, we recognise that every child is special and unique. We are committed to working together with all members of our community to provide the best possible education for the pupils in our care. Through our rich and varied curriculum, every child is given opportunities and support, in a nurturing, stimulating environment which should allow them to achieve the highest possible standards. Our staff are passionate and committed to meeting the needs of all our children and strive to break down any barriers that are preventing children from making the progress they are capable of. As a school, we recognise the importance of not only supporting children’s academic progress but also developing their behavioural, emotional, and social skills to enable them to be confident, independent learners and happy children.

Our staff are committed to meeting the needs of all our children and strive to break down any barriers for children for making the progress they are capable of, and achieving their full potential within their learning.
We used the Graduated Approach to support children with additional needs using the assess- plan- do -review cycle to remove barriers to learning in order for children to continue to make progress.
