About Us

Butterflies Class is based at Rockland St Mary Primary School and provides a nurturing, inspiring start to education for children from their 3rd birthday. Pre-school children attend alongside our reception children, giving them the perfect start to their school journey.

We are a small team of highly dedicated professionals who place children at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to offer a high-quality, holistic early years education, ensuring every child feels safe, valued and supported as a unique individual.

Children in Butterflies Class are happy, confident learners who make excellent progress from their individual starting points. Our warm, caring relationships and carefully planned environment help children to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Butterflies Class is fully integrated within the wider school community. Children join in with playtimes, lunchtimes and whole-school activities, building strong relationships with older pupils and staff. These connections help to develop confidence, communication skills and a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning of their school journey.

We benefit from a fully qualified Early Years Teacher, who works closely alongside our Early Years Lead, ensuring consistency and exceptional practice throughout our Early Years provision.
