Online Safety

Keeping pupils safe online is crucial for their wellbeing and development. At our school, online safety is embedded throughout our computing curriculum using the Teach Computing curriculum. Children are taught how to stay safe online and are empowered to use the internet responsibly, positively, and confidently.

In addition, we use Project Evolve, a UK online safety education programme based on the UK Council for Internet Safety “Education for a Connected World” framework and developed with support from the UK Safer Internet Centre.

Project Evolve explores eight key areas of online life:

• Self-image and identity
• Online relationships
• Online reputation
• Online bullying
• Managing online information
• Health, wellbeing and lifestyle
• Privacy and security
• Copyright and ownership

Through these areas, pupils develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world safely, respectfully, and responsibly
